Facebook-backed Byju’s acquires Pearson’s TutorVista and Edurite
Byju’s is an ed-tech platform that has about eight million users and about 400,000 annual paid subscribers – they are reportedly the most popular learning app for students between class four to twelve.
With focus on expanding their international reach while creating a diverse product portfolio, Facebook-backed education leader Byju’s announced the acquisition of Pearson’s TutorVista and Edurite.
TutorVista is a US-based online tutoring brand that gets millions of visitors every month on its website from around the world.
“We are excited to work with the talented and experienced team who will come onboard as a part of this acquisition,” said Byju Raveendran, Founder and CEO, Byju’s, adding, “With increased brand awareness, our core offering – Byju’s The Learning App has witnessed massive adoption amongst students.”
Byju’s believes that their products can change the way students across the world can learn. Raveendran goes on to say, “Today, with a wider bandwidth, we have started creating similar products for the international markets that further boost our reach as well as product portfolio.”
