Netradyne Launches AI-Powered Drowsiness Detection System to Revolutionize Road Safety in India
Netradyne, a global leader in AI-powered fleet and driver safety solutions, has announced the India launch of its Driver•i D-450 video safety platform along with a next-generation Driver Monitoring System (DMS) Sensor designed to detect drowsiness and fatigue in real time.
This rollout comes as India prepares for new safety regulations. The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) has mandated that from 2026, all commercial vehicles carrying eight or more passengers must be equipped with lane departure warning (LDWS) and driver drowsiness and attention warning systems (DDAWS).
Smarter AI for Safer Roads
The Netradyne D-450 platform uses a four-camera setup and advanced AI to record and analyze 100% of driving time, flagging risky behavior instantly. Paired with the new DMS Sensor, the system monitors driver eye movements and alertness — even in low light conditions or when sunglasses are worn. Leveraging validated methods such as PERCLOS (Percentage of Eyelid Closure over the Pupil over Time), the technology can detect early signs of drowsiness and microsleeps, helping prevent accidents before they occur.
