Gorillaz Unveils New Track “The Manifesto” Featuring Trueno and Proof
Gorillaz has dropped their highly anticipated new single, “The Manifesto,” featuring Argentine rapper Trueno and a verse from the late Detroit rapper, Proof. This sprawling track is the second single from their upcoming ninth studio album, “The Mountain,” or Parvath, set to release on March 20, 2026.
The Song’s Inspiration and Features
“The Manifesto” explores themes of the cycle of life and the afterlife, with Trueno delivering a thought-provoking verse: “I don’t know what tomorrow holds / When I heed the light that’s calling me / Baby, my future is demanding me / I walk toward the light / I have nothing to lose.”
Proof’s verse adds a raw, emotional punch, showcasing his signature flow: “You aren’t ready for death / Until I showed up, hold breath / Until you blow the on one set.” The song features an impressive array of musicians, including sarod players Amaan Ali Bangash and Ayaan Ali Bangash, the Jea Band Jaipur on brass, Ajay Prasanna on bansuri, and The Mountain Choir led by Vijayaa Shanker.

A Tribute to Proof
Proof’s verse was captured minutes before he entered the recording studio, making his contribution all the more poignant. This marks his first official new release since his family regained control of his estate, offering fans a powerful reminder of his skill and presence. “The Manifesto” is both a bold creative experiment and a heartfelt tribute to the rapper.
Upcoming Album and Tour
“The Mountain” promises to be a star-studded affair, with collaborations with Black Thought, Omar Souleyman, Asha Puthli, Gruff Rhys, and many more. Gorillaz will embark on a UK and Ireland tour in March 2026, kicking off in Manchester and wrapping up in Dublin.
