Gurugram-based startup community-builder and accelerator, PedalStart, announces the commencement of its PedalStars 2.0 Fellowship, designed to nurture and empower 20 aspiring startup enthusiasts as core team members. The program, spanning six months, will focus on hands-on, experience-based learning and exposure to the vibrant startup ecosystem.
PedalStart, a prominent name in the Gurugram startup community, has unveiled the second edition of its flagship PedalStars Fellowship, a dedicated initiative to equip individuals with the skills and knowledge required to thrive as core team members within the startup ecosystem. Branded as ‘PedalStars 2.0,’ the program aims to select, train, and support a cohort of 20 passionate individuals over the next six months.
Selected participants, referred to as Fellows, will receive a monthly stipend of INR 15k while undergoing the program. Upon completion in May 2024, PedalStart will extend placement assistance to help Fellows secure positions as early team members or core team members, either within one of the 20+ portfolio startups associated with PedalStart or within PedalStart itself. The program offers participants a unique opportunity to rapidly advance their startup careers, working closely with experienced founders and mentors affiliated with PedalStart.
Built on a foundation of practical and experiential training, PedalStars 2.0 ensures Fellows gain valuable exposure to the startup ecosystem. Beyond access to intensive courses, workshops, and resources, participants will engage in hands-on activities, learning the ropes of building and growing a startup from inception to the operational stage. Under the guidance of seasoned experts, Fellows will participate in ideation, launch, monitoring, monetization, and iterative processes, gaining comprehensive insights into the day-to-day operations of a startup.
Co-Founder of PedalStart, Manas Pal, expressed enthusiasm about the Fellowship, stating, “PedalStars offers a unique opportunity for startup enthusiasts to immerse themselves in the dynamic startup culture, gain practical exposure, and understand the intricacies of the startup journey. Fellows will start with micro-level tasks, gradually progressing to broader projects across different verticals. By the end of the program, they will emerge as industry-ready and job-ready core team members for budding startups.”
In its first edition, PedalStars Fellowship successfully trained seven individuals out of 1000+ applications, and they secured placements after completing the program in November. Shreyansh Kataria, a Fellow from the inaugural cohort, shared his experience, stating, “PedalStars Fellowship provided me with invaluable insights into the workings of the startup ecosystem. It improved my confidence, problem-solving skills, and shifted my perspective entirely. I believe this Fellowship is the perfect platform for anyone aspiring to build a rewarding career in the startup ecosystem.”
Noteworthy is the program’s outcome-driven philosophy, as it refrains from charging any upfront fees. However, Fellows securing placements through PedalStart after completing the Fellowship are required to pay a pre-specified program fee over the next three years.
The PedalStars 2.0 Fellowship is currently accepting applications, encouraging young individuals with a strong inclination toward the startup ecosystem, including those with up to three years of entrepreneurial or startup job experience, to apply. The selection process involves a thorough five-step screening to identify the most promising applicants, beginning with the completion of an application form.
