Global Selling Program launched by Amazon India
Retail heavyweight Amazon has launched the Global Selling Program in India to invite new businesses in the country to export to global markets.
Amazon is pushing two of its products – Selling on Amazon (SOA) and Fulfillment By Amazon (FBA) to businesses irrespective of size throughout India to go global and showcase “Made In India” creations and products.
To start with, the programme allows exporting products in the apparel, home furnishing (including Indian handicrafts), jewelry, books, collectibles, sporting goods, handbags, shoes and health & beauty products categories, Amazon said in a statement.
The statement also said that manufacturers and local brands can export their products across these categories and take Indian creations to the global market.
“Sellers on Amazon from more than 100 different countries around the world have fulfilled orders to customers in 185 countries utilising our FBA service. Our Global Selling Program in India is designed to assist Indian manufacturers and businesses to grow their business by leveraging Amazon’s state-of-the-art technology, world class logistics infrastructure and customer service expertise” said Amazon Director Global Sales Chad Goelzer.
Selling on Amazon provides businesses of all sizes an international sales flow without any product listing fees, upfront costs of creating a website or setting up a physical store and secure payments infrastructure.
With ‘Fulfillment by Amazon’, manufacturers and sellers can store their products in Amazon’s warehouse; and Amazon packs and delivers the orders to customers, provides customer service and handles returns, it said.
