Matthew McConaughey and Michael Caine Sign Landmark AI Voice Deals With ElevenLabs
In a major leap for the intersection of Hollywood and artificial intelligence, actors Matthew McConaughey and Sir Michael Caine have officially partnered with AI audio company ElevenLabs to replicate and license their iconic voices. The collaborations mark a significant moment for the entertainment industry as more creators embrace AI-powered storytelling and ethical voice licensing.
McConaughey Invests in ElevenLabs and Launches Spanish AI Voice Project
Matthew McConaughey—an early collaborator with ElevenLabs—has taken his involvement to the next level by investing an undisclosed sum in the fast-growing AI company. The Oscar-winning actor is now expanding his newsletter, Lyrics of Livin’, into a Spanish-language audio edition using a digitally cloned version of his own voice.
McConaughey praised the company’s approach to voice technology, stating that ElevenLabs is helping creators “connect through something as timeless as humanity itself — our voices.” He emphasized that AI audio allows him to reach new audiences without sacrificing authenticity, calling it a tool that “expands storytelling” rather than replaces it.

Michael Caine Joins ElevenLabs’ Iconic Voice Marketplace
At 92, Michael Caine is entering the AI era with a major agreement: the legendary British actor has partnered with ElevenLabs to make his voice available through the company’s newly launched Iconic Voice Marketplace. The platform allows creative teams, brands, and studios to request approved licensing of celebrity voices for narrations, commercials, books, articles, and editorial content.
In a voiceover for ElevenLabs, Caine spoke about the evolving relationship between technology and human creativity:
“Technology is just the medium. This is humanity — amplified.”
Caine said the ethical framework of the platform is what drew him in. He sees voice preservation as a way to empower new storytellers, noting that AI is “not about replacing voices; it’s about amplifying them.”
A Marketplace of Iconic Voices, Past and Present
ElevenLabs’ Iconic Voice Marketplace already features an extraordinary roster, including both living talents and legendary figures such as: Liza Minnelli, Art Garfunkel, Judy Garland, John Wayne, Laurence Olivier, Maya Angelou, Babe Ruth, Alan Turing, Rock Hudson and J. Robert Oppenheimer.
The marketplace aims to address one of AI’s most pressing challenges: ethical sourcing and licensing of voices. Following a recent lawsuit settlement involving actors alleging voice misappropriation, ElevenLabs is positioning itself as a leader in transparent, rights-driven AI collaboration.

ElevenLabs’ Rapid Growth and Rising Valuation
Founded in 2022, ElevenLabs has grown at breakneck speed. Last month, the company completed a $100 million tender offer valuing it at $6.6 billion, double its valuation from early 2025. With more than 330 employees, ElevenLabs is becoming a central force in the generative audio space.
CEO Mati Staniszewski said the celebrity collaborations demonstrate how AI can “responsibly expand opportunities for studio and talent, while enhancing storytelling.”
As Hollywood grapples with the rise of AI, McConaughey and Caine’s deals may mark a new blueprint—one that merges creativity, technology, and ethical licensing in a future where iconic voices never fade.
