Epstein Files Release Photos That Renew Scrutiny on Prince Andrew
Newly released files from the US Department of Justice have reignited controversy surrounding Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly known as Prince Andrew, after photographs appearing to show him kneeling on all fours over an unidentified woman were made public. The images are part of a large batch of Epstein files that include emails, photos, and videos connected to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein.
What the Photos Appear to Show
According to the documents, the images depict a grey-haired man dressed casually, positioned over a fully clothed woman lying on the floor. In several photos, the man appears to be touching the woman’s stomach or side, while in another, he looks directly at the camera. The woman’s face is redacted, and no context is provided regarding when or where the images were taken.
Because the files lack accompanying explanations, the circumstances surrounding the photographs remain unclear. However, their release has intensified public and media scrutiny of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, who has long faced questions over his past association with Epstein.

Emails and Alleged Invitations
Alongside the photos, newly released emails suggest Epstein once proposed introducing Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor to a 26-year-old Russian woman in 2010, two years after Epstein pleaded guilty to soliciting a minor. The correspondence, allegedly between Epstein and an account identified as “The Duke,” discusses potential meetings and private dinners, including references to Buckingham Palace.
While the emails themselves do not demonstrate criminal activity, their tone and timing have added to the controversy.

US Authorities and Past Allegations
The document release also includes a 2020 request from US authorities seeking to interview Ex. Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. Investigators stated they believed he may have been a witness to, or participant in, events relevant to the Epstein investigation. The letter clarified that he was not considered a target and that no evidence had established criminal conduct under US law.
Ex. Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has consistently denied any wrongdoing. He previously faced allegations from Virginia Giuffre, who claimed she was trafficked by Epstein and sexually assaulted as a teenager. The former prince denied ever meeting her but reached a financial settlement in 2022 to resolve the civil case.
Wider Fallout and Royal Impact
The latest Epstein files also reference emails involving Sarah Ferguson, Mountbatten-Windsor’s former wife, which describe friendly exchanges and business discussions with Epstein. No wrongdoing is alleged in those communications.
The latest document release includes more than 2,000 videos and 180,000 images, many of which are heavily redacted. Their publication comes amid a deadline set by US law, further fueling debate over transparency, accountability and the lasting reach of the Epstein scandal.
As these materials circulate globally, they place renewed pressure on Mountbatten-Windsor, who was stripped of his royal titles amid earlier fallout. While no new charges have been filed, the revelations ensure that questions surrounding Epstein’s powerful connections — and those linked to him — remain far from settled.
