New Track
Miley Cyrus Teams Up with Fleetwood Mac Legends on Emotional New Single Secrets
Miley Cyrus is kicking off a powerful new era with the release of Secrets, a heartfelt single featuring Fleetwood Mac’s Lindsey Buckingham and Mick Fleetwood. Scheduled to drop on September 19, 2025, the track has already sparked buzz across social media after Cyrus teased it with a snippet on Instagram. The collaboration brings together one of pop’s most versatile stars with two legends of classic rock, marking a rare semi-reunion of Fleetwood Mac’s lineup.
A Birthday Gift Turned Global Release
What makes Secrets even more personal is its origin story. The song was initially written as a gift for Miley’s father, country star Billy Ray Cyrus, in honor of his 64th birthday. Billy Ray shared his joy on Instagram, posting a clip of himself dancing in a field to the track.
“For my birthday, Miley gave me the gift of music and wrote me a song called Secrets and got my favorite musicians Fleetwood Mac to play on it! I love you, Mile,” he gushed.
Originally a private gift, the song quickly evolved into an official release thanks to its powerful message and star-studded lineup.

Lyrics Rooted in Family Bonds
Miley Cyrus revealed the emotional inspiration behind Secrets during a June podcast with Monica Lewinsky. “I wrote this song about my dad, because I wanted him to tell me—even though there were secrets, even though I didn’t really want to know. I wanted to be the one he felt safe enough to tell the things that were damning and damaging to the family,” she explained.
The song reflects themes of vulnerability, trust, and healing—elements deeply tied to the Cyrus family’s public ups and downs in recent years.
Fleetwood Mac’s Touch
Musically, Secrets blends shimmering ’80s-inspired guitars, a dreamy rhythm section, and Miley Cyrus’ signature powerhouse vocals. Buckingham and Fleetwood Mac’s involvement adds authenticity and nostalgia, bridging generations of fans.
While Fleetwood Mac as a band remains inactive, both musicians have been active individually. Their participation in Secrets comes as Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks prepare to reissue their 1973 album Buckingham Nicks this month, giving longtime fans an added layer of excitement.

The song also signifies a shift in Miley Cyrus’ relationship with her father. Once strained after Billy Ray Cyrus’ divorce from Tish Cyrus, their bond now seems stronger, with Secrets serving as a musical reconciliation. “Half of us weren’t speaking to each other at one point, and we cleaned all that up,” Miley Cyrus said recently.
With family ties restored, legendary collaborators on board, and a new era of music unfolding, Secrets is shaping up to be one of Miley Cyrus’ most emotional and iconic releases yet.
