Flexprice Raises $1.5 Million Seed Round to Power AI Billing Infrastructure Revolution
Flexprice has announced a $1.5 million seed funding round led by Shastra VC, with participation from Anupam Mittal and returning investor TDV Partners.
The New Delhi-headquartered startup is building open-source usage billing infrastructure designed specifically for AI-native and API-first companies. The fresh capital will be used to accelerate global expansion across the United States and Europe while also broadening the platform’s capabilities beyond billing into AI-driven financial automation.
AI Companies Demand Smarter Billing Systems
As artificial intelligence companies increasingly rely on pricing models based on tokens, API calls, GPU hours, and real-time usage, traditional subscription billing systems are struggling to keep pace.
Flexprice was founded in late 2024 to solve that challenge. The platform helps businesses manage complex pricing models, metering systems, revenue recognition, and financial workflows without relying on outdated infrastructure.
According to the company, its platform now processes more than 20 billion events per month with sub-second latency, reflecting rapid demand from fast-growing AI businesses globally.
The startup also revealed that its revenue grew sixfold in the last quarter alone.

Built for the Modern AI Economy
Flexprice’s technology stack is designed specifically for enterprise-scale AI workloads. The company uses the Go programming language along with ClickHouse, Kafka, and Temporal to support high-throughput event processing and workflow orchestration.
The platform supports multiple pricing models, including pay-as-you-go billing, prepaid credits, seat-based subscriptions, volume tiers, and hybrid monetization systems.
Its developer-focused APIs and SDKs allow companies to track real-time usage, automate quotas, and integrate directly with major payment providers such as Stripe, Adyen, and Razorpay.
Unlike many enterprise billing platforms, Flexprice is also fully open-source and self-hostable, giving customers more control and reducing vendor lock-in concerns.

Investors See Major Market Opportunity
Investors backing the startup believe the AI economy is creating a massive new market for modern billing infrastructure.
Industry estimates suggest the AI billing infrastructure market is currently worth approximately $4 billion and growing rapidly. The broader SaaS billing market is projected to exceed $20 billion by 2033.
Shastra VC Managing Partner Avijeet Alagathi said the firm was drawn to Flexprice’s engineering-first approach and the growing demand for flexible usage-based pricing models in AI software.
Meanwhile, TDV Partners General Partner Ujwal Sutaria described the shift toward AI-driven monetization as a “generational change” in how software products are priced and delivered.
Flexprice Eyes Global Growth
CEO Manish Choudhary said the company’s long-term vision extends beyond billing infrastructure.
According to Choudhary, Flexprice aims to automate the entire revenue lifecycle for AI companies, from tracking usage events to revenue reporting and monetization optimization.
With fresh funding, growing enterprise adoption, and increasing demand for AI-native infrastructure, Flexprice is positioning itself as a major player in the future of software revenue automation.
