5 Eminem Tracks We All Rapped To As Kids

During our childhood, there would be innocent birthday parties we’d attend. At those parties however, there would be the hip kids who knew a lot about western rap music, and by a lot they meant Eminem. They imagined Marshall Mathers’s name to be spelt as MNM, but no one cared. They rapped like they knew the songs. Slowly, even the unpopularkids picked up these songs. But they didn’t know all the lyrics. They rolled their tongues to fit in. Read on to find out the Eminem songs we all loved as kids and still remember the lyrics if it’s played on the radio.

Without Me

Without Me

Unlike most of Eminem’s songs, this one makes an exception with his anger levels. He instead seems utterly sarcastic about society’s mating abilities. He even is narcissistic about his presence making the world go round. After the track broke out, it did make the world go round, with lyrics like “This looks like a job for me so everybody just follow me/coz we need a little controversy/coz it feels so empty without me”.

Superman

 Superman

Layered with sexual innuendoes, slimy undertones and a sultry base tune, this song speaks volumes of his angst against relationships, and his love for one time flings. He considers himselfSuperman. He’s got no ring on his finger now. He’ll never let another another chic bring him down in a relationship. Then he just begins to objectify women! Well what else could you expect from Marshall! Little did we think of this back as kids, eh? Just Googled lyrics and rapped away. Then went to school and wore that badge of heroism for knowing the lyrics. All said and done, we never needed to do the do the walk of shame.

The Real Slim shady

 The Real Slim Shady

This one track got so popular that “Will the real slim shady please stand up” became a line to reckon with. It was even rolling on the geeky girl’s tongue who didn’t even know Eminem or even ifshe did know him she despised him thoroughly. But for those who prayed to Eminem at night, “Dr Dre said… nothing you idiot… Dr Dre’s dead, he’s locked in my basement” was the “Oh! Burn!” moment! And then of course there was the “My bum is on your lips/ My bum is on your lips/ if you’re lucky you might give it a little kiss” phrase which caught on like wildfire.

Lose Yourself

Lose Yourself

Motivation is what we needed before a debate or a school play. We’d either listen to Lakshya’s title track or resort to “Lose Yourself”. Imagining heavy breaths, a panting Marshall before a show who gets one shot, a sweating Marshall flipping his hood on and off, you’d be getting ready for your performance. You never knew how to cope with such stage fright and then your friend came along and said, “Look, if you had one shot, or one opportunity, to seize everything you ever wanted in one moment, would you capture it or let it slip?” You would shoot a dead pan stare at your friend because you knew the lyrics and it wasn’t helping at that nervous point in time.

My name is

My Name Is

My name is “chikachika” Slim Shady caught everyone’s fancy as kids. This song is a parody when Marshall addresses school kids who love violence and wouldn’t mind advice on which Spice Girl to impregnate. Crazy, huh? But this was one of those Eminem songs whose lyrics no one knew. It would play and everyone would hide their face and move their lips about like masters of the song. And, if anyone came close toinvestigate; the glass of cola would be sipped at gulped at snail’s pace.
