Drake Drops New Single “Dog House” With Yeat and Julia Wolf Ahead of Iceman Album

Drake has officially returned with his latest single, “Dog House,” featuring rapper Yeat and singer-songwriter Julia Wolf. Released at midnight, the track offers fans a taste of his highly anticipated ninth studio album, Iceman, which is set to arrive later this year.

A Three-Genre Collision

“Dog House” blends Drake’s melodic rap delivery, Yeat’s futuristic trap flows, and Julia Wolf’s alternative pop stylings, creating one of the rapper’s most experimental collaborations to date. The song’s layered production is laced with atmospheric synths and heavy 808s, building a cinematic backdrop that allows all three artists to shine.

Lyrically, Drake extends his canine imagery motif — first explored in his 2023 project For All the Dogs — using the “dog house” metaphor to reference loyalty, betrayal, and navigating fame’s isolation. Yeat injects the record with his signature high-energy ad-libs and distorted cadences, while Wolf balances the track with an ethereal hook that softens the edges of its darker themes.

A Livestream Build-Up

The release follows Drake’s Iceman Episode 3 livestream, which aired on September 4. During the broadcast, Drake and Yeat previewed “Dog House” in a red-lit studio, fueling massive anticipation across social media. Fans immediately began dissecting snippets and sharing theories about how the single fits into the larger album narrative.

The episode also teased unreleased tracks, including “That’s Just How I Feel” and a remix of “Somebody Loves Me Pt. 2” with Cash Cobain. This rollout echoes the behind-the-scenes approach Drake used for his 2022 album Honestly, Nevermind, where he gave fans intimate access to his creative process in real time.

The Iceman Era

While Drake has remained tight-lipped about the overall direction of Iceman, insiders suggest the album will combine icy, minimalist beats with lyrical explorations of legacy, fame, and fatherhood. “Dog House” appears to set the tone for an era where Drake embraces both vulnerability and bravado while collaborating with artists from diverse genres.

Industry watchers note that teaming up with Yeat, one of rap’s most innovative rising stars, and Julia Wolf, an alt-pop newcomer gaining critical buzz, reflects Drake’s ability to straddle mainstream dominance while staying plugged into fresh cultural currents.
