Drake’s Leaked Track “National Treasure” with Pressa Sparks Raptors Diss Debate

Toronto rapper Drake is once again at the center of hip-hop buzz after a previously unheard track leaked over the weekend. The song, reportedly titled “National Treasure,” features fellow Toronto artist Pressa and quickly caught fire online.

The track first surfaced when crypto streamers Bagwork played it during a livestream while promoting a meme coin. The move sparked backlash — and curiosity — leading fans to demand answers.

DJ Akademiks Confirms the Details

Popular hip-hop commentator DJ Akademiks addressed the situation on stream, revealing insider details. According to him, “National Treasure” was originally linked to Drake’s No Face video and intended to spotlight Pressa.

“This is why I think the song got leaked, truth be told,” Akademiks said. “They thought it was going to come out with a video. But Drake didn’t clear the song. He was focused on 100 Gigs, so the track just never materialized.”

Akademiks also suggested the leak may have stemmed from frustration among collaborators who believed the song was promised to Pressa.

Drake Responds to the Leak

Drake himself was reportedly blindsided. In a call with streamer Adin Ross, he admitted confusion about the crypto influencers behind the leak.

“I don’t even know who the fk those kids are,” Drake said. “I asked you who they are. What the fk?” The rapper added that he was in Berlin when the incident unfolded, clearly irritated.

Adding fuel to the fire, fans quickly zeroed in on a set of lyrics interpreted as a shot at former Toronto Raptors star DeMar DeRozan.

“When you was part of the team we used to be planning our Mexico trips in the spring / We must’ve been dealing in the spur of the moment / Cause why (Kawhi) did we think you could get us a ring?” Drake raps.

The verse references the blockbuster trade that sent DeMar DeRozan to the Spurs in exchange for Kawhi Leonard, who went on to deliver Toronto’s first NBA championship.

Given DeMar DeRozan’s rumoured alignment with Kendrick Lamar during their rap feud, fans perceive this as Drake finally responding.

Will “National Treasure” Make ICEMAN?

Drake’s highly anticipated ninth studio album, Iceman, is expected later this year but still lacks an official release date. Akademiks, however, doubts “National Treasure” will appear on the final tracklist.

Whether or not the song makes the cut, the leak has already ignited discussions across hip-hop and NBA circles — proof that even Drake’s unreleased material can dominate the cultural conversation.
