Jake E. Lee, the renowned former guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne, was shot multiple times early Tuesday morning in Las Vegas. The incident occurred around 2:40 a.m. in a neighbourhood located approximately 10 miles south of the iconic Las Vegas Strip. According to a statement from Las Vegas police, Lee was walking his dog when he was attacked, and the motive for the shooting remains unclear. The authorities have not made any arrests, and the investigation is ongoing.

Lee, 67, was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where he received treatment for his injuries. Fortunately, despite the multiple gunshot wounds, Lee is expected to make a full recovery. His representative, Amanda Cagan, confirmed that the guitarist was conscious and responsive following the attack. “By the grace of God, no major organs were hit, and he’s fully responsive,” said Tim Heyne, the manager of Lee’s current band, Red Dragon Cartel. Heyne also added that the guitarist’s family is grateful for the outpouring of support but has requested privacy as the investigation unfolds.

Jake E. Lee, born in Norfolk, Virginia, and raised in San Diego, is best known for his contributions to the world of heavy metal, particularly during his time as lead guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne. He joined Osbourne’s band in 1982 and played on two of Osbourne’s major albums—Bark at the Moon (1983) and The Ultimate Sin (1986). Lee’s distinctive guitar style helped shape Osbourne’s sound during the mid-1980s, propelling him into the spotlight of the metal scene.

Before joining Ozzy Osbourne’s band, Lee had been part of several notable acts on the Los Angeles glam metal circuit, including an early iteration of Ratt. Following his departure from Osbourne’s band in 1987, Lee formed the metal band Badlands and eventually launched a solo career, releasing a pair of solo albums. He led the band Red Dragon Cartel in recent years, continuing to perform and tour.

The music world has reacted with shock and concern over the news of Lee’s shooting, with many fans and fellow musicians sending messages of support on social media. While Lee’s injuries are severe, his representatives and doctors remain optimistic about his full recovery.

As the investigation continues, fans and the rock community alike are hoping for answers and justice for the legendary guitarist.
