India’s largest online food ordering platform, Foodpanda, has collaborated with Care India and Sakshi NGO to provide a shoulder to underprivileged children of the country. On the occasion of World Hunger Day on May 28th, the company announced its aim to spread awareness about the looming problem of hunger that the underprivileged face every day of their lives.
While Care India has started a campaign that will last a month, Foodpanda will assist by diverting traffic to the page by promoting the campaign “Share your plate” on all platforms.
“Being a food delivery platform, we realise what hardships the underprivileged have to go through to afford one square meal a day. It is our constant endeavour to spread happiness through food and we wish to extend this belief to the needy sections of society as well. We want to send out a message of hope through our humble contribution to the efforts of both Care India and Sakshi NGO who are working in this direction,” said Saurabh Lochhar, CEO, Foodpanda.
The company has also contributed financially to Sakshi NGO. Moreover, it had also collected clothing material for children that were submitted to the organisation’s Chattarpur’s branch on WOrld Hunger Day. Chaayos, a partner vendor of Foodpanda also helped by distributing food and beverage packets to children.
Foodpanda, along with Care India and Sakshi NGO aims to target the area that can solve the issue of hunger – the distribution itself. It plans to continue to address the issues related to hunger and be a part of similar campaigns in the future.
