Empowering Adolescent Girls: Celebrating the Success of Kishori Utkarsh Pahel Program on National Girl Child Day
In a resounding tribute to the spirit of empowerment and girl child welfare, the “Kishori Protsahan Samaroh” (Culmination Ceremony) was held on National Girl Child Day to honor the remarkable achievements of the Kishori Utkarsh Pahel program. This initiative, spearheaded by the District Administration of Bharuch in collaboration with various government departments and supported by DCM Shriram Foundation under their CSR initiative, has been instrumental in uplifting adolescent girls across the Bharuch district.
The Kishori Utkarsh Pahel program, a brainchild of Shri Tushar Sumera, IAS, Collector and District Magistrate of Bharuch, was launched on 24th January 2023, coinciding with the National Girl Child Day. Aimed at empowering adolescent girls through education, health, and socio-economic interventions, the program has made significant strides in its mission to nurture and uplift young girls.
The “Kishori Protsahan Samaroh” held on 24th January 2024 at the Conference Hall, Jhagadia Industrial Association, Jhagadia, served as a platform to honor and recognize the exemplary efforts of 122 Gram Jagrut Kishoris and 10 Taluka Jagrut Kishoris identified through the program. The event witnessed the presence of distinguished dignitaries including Shri Tushar Sumera, IAS, Collector and District Magistrate, along with representatives from various government departments and partner organizations.
The ceremony commenced with an introductory session by Shri B.M. Patel, President & COO- Chemicals, DCM Shriram Ltd., followed by a poignant portrayal of the Kishori Utkarsh Pahel program’s journey. The virtual presentation showcased the transformative impact of the initiative, offering insights into the experiences shared by Taluka Jagrut Kishoris Ms. Yashvi Purohit and Ms. Tanjima Sheikh.
Addressing the gathering, Mrs. Swati Raol, District Education Officer, shed light on the significance of National Girl Child Day and highlighted the challenges faced by girls in society. Shri Tushar Sumera, IAS, Collector and District Magistrate, Bharuch, commended the girls for their achievements and emphasized the importance of their role in driving positive change within their communities.
Ms. Aman Pannu and Mr. Bhomik Shah shared their perspectives on how their organizations are contributing to this initiative, reaffirming their commitment to ensuring the program’s reach to every adolescent girl in the community.
The ceremony culminated with the felicitation of the 10 Taluka Jagrut Kishoris, who were honored with rewards, certificates, and tablets, recognizing their outstanding contributions. Additionally, 112 Gram Jagrut Kishoris were also acknowledged with rewards and certificates, along with their master trainers, for their invaluable efforts in advancing the program’s objectives.
The “Kishori Protsahan Samaroh” served as a poignant reminder of the transformative power of education and empowerment in shaping the lives of adolescent girls. Through collaborative efforts and unwavering dedication, initiatives like the Kishori Utkarsh Pahel program continue to pave the way for a brighter and more inclusive future for girls across the Bharuch district.
