Tom Morello’s Power To The People Festival Brings Bruce Springsteen, Foo Fighters and Activist Rock Icons Together
The worlds of rock music and activism are colliding once again as Tom Morello officially launches the inaugural Power To The People Festival, a star-studded event featuring performances from Bruce Springsteen, Foo Fighters, Joan Baez, and Serj Tankian.
The one-day festival is scheduled for October 3, 2026, at Merriweather Post Pavilion and promises a blend of live music, political awareness, and community engagement.
Power To The People Festival Lineup Revealed
Tom Morello, best known for his work with Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave, announced the event during a live appearance with Springsteen at Nationals Park.
The lineup already includes major names across rock, punk, hip-hop, and alternative music, including:
- Dave Matthews
- Brittany Howard
- Dropkick Murphys
- Jack Black
- Cypress Hill
- Killer Mike
- The Linda Lindas
- Darryl McDaniels
Artist and activist Shepard Fairey will also contribute artwork and perform a DJ set during the festival.
Music, Activism, and Community Action
According to organizers, the Power To The People Festival is designed as a “non-partisan celebration of peace, justice, solidarity, music, and community action.”
The event will feature a “Freedom Village,” where attendees can interact with nonprofit organizations, advocacy groups, and community leaders focused on civic participation and social causes.
A portion of ticket sales, including all net proceeds from VIP tickets, will support organizations such as VoteRiders and HeadCount.
In a statement announcing the festival, Morello emphasized the connection between music and activism.
“The Power To The People festival is about freedom, justice, equality, and rock and roll,” Morello said. “It’s about the power everyday human beings have when they come together through music, art, community, and action.”
Tom Morello Continues Political Music Legacy
The festival is the latest chapter in Morello’s long history of politically driven music projects and live events. Over the years, he has helped organize rallies, benefit concerts, and activism-focused tours tied to immigration rights, voting access, and social justice.
The announcement also arrives as Tom Morello prepares to release his new single, “Adjourn It,” featuring Serj Tankian and his son, Roman Morello. The track reportedly addresses immigration issues and resistance against authoritarianism.
Fans can expect more artists and organizations to be added to the festival lineup in the coming weeks, with tickets officially going on sale May 30.
